Energy Assistance Programs

Do you need help paying your electric and gas bills? Ohio has several energy assistance programs available. Click here for details on eligibility or to apply. You can view specific details about each program by clicking on the program name on the right side panel.

Emergency Assistance

Franklin County’s Prevention, Retention, and Contingency Plan offers one-time or short-term emergency assistance to families. This assistance can be requested for home and utility-related expenses, as well as rent assistance. See details, eligibility information, and apply here.

Energy Efficiency Programs through MORPC

MORPC offers home energy efficiency and safety services at no cost to income-eligible residents to help keep them warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, all while lowering energy bills. MORPC’s programs can provide free furnace tune up or replacement, free wall and attic insulation, free replacement refrigerator and light bulbs, etc. These programs are available all year to Franklin County residents and are provided at no cost to income-eligible clients. Low Cost Internet and Technology

If you are a family that has children in school and a household income below 200% of the federal poverty line, you may qualify to get a computer and a year of internet for as little as $20.* Find out more information here.

Office of Ohio’s Consumer Counsel

The Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel (OCC) represents Ohio’s residents in matters related to their utilities, including electric, natural gas, telephone, and water services.
