The New Albany Food Pantry wants to recognize and celebrate Denise Parman as our Volunteer of the Year. Her dedication to our families has made a significant impact on the pantry. A first time client said the following about Denise:

“Denise (I believe was her name) is AWESOME! She helped me throughout the Pantry today since it was my first time and she is lovely!”

Denise, thank you for your kindness, commitment, and compassion! The pantry is so fortunate to have you as a member of our team!

"Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who need of man's help - something for which you get no pay, but the privilege of doing it. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too." ~Albert Schweitzer~

In Denise’s own words:

“I always say I have the best job at the NAFP because I get to "shop" and interact with our neighbors. But it takes a large group of selfless individuals behind the scenes doing an array of tasks that make the NAFP exist. Our leadership team sees the dignity and worth of every individual we serve, and we have all learned about other cultures, issues and ways of life different than ours.

NAFP volunteers are a community within a community with a common goal of supporting our neighbors in need, "Neighbors Helping Neighbors." It's a simple mantra. Sometimes a lofty goal, but achievable. Be the one to make a small difference in your community. VOLUNTEER.

I dedicate this honor in memory of my mom who lived to be 95. She was a quiet woman who made a big difference in many lives. She was kind to everyone, and sometimes that's all that's needed.”

Thank you, Denise for all of your hard work and dedication to serving our neighbors in need.
