It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our friend and former colleague, Susan Keiser Smith, after her long, but valiant fight against glioblastoma.

Susan was the Site Director for Food Rescue Columbus for many years. Serving the Columbus community, with her infectious energy and passion, she grew the organization into the force it is today. In addition to running Food Rescue, we had the privilege of working with Susan as the NAFP Pantry Manager and also as a Logistics Coordinator for NAFP. She brought that same spirit and dedication to making a difference into the Pantry during her time here.

If you knew Susan, you know that her mission in life was to make a difference. She realized life is short and made it her mission to do something that mattered each day of her life.

We are eternally grateful for the time that we did get to spend with Susan; knowing her and witnessing her unwavering dedication to making the world a better place for everyone.

Her legacy lives on through Food Rescue and the many people that she inspired to give back during her 50 years and we will continue to honor that legacy through our own work toward erasing food insecurity and hunger.
